Kwanzaa history

In the midst of the Black Freedom Movement, Kwanzaa was established to strengthen the African American community and reaffirm a sense of pride and rootedness in African culture. The modern Kwanzaa celebration lasts for seven days, from December 26 to January 1, with each of the seven days dedicated to one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa.
