KALAMAZOO, Mich. — With music provided by the Western Michigan University Marching Band and cheers from the fans, Lance Taylor (Choctow), accompanied by his wife and two young children, walked to Heritage Hall on Friday afternoon for what can best be described as a bit of an activity. Rally and a partial press conference will be served as the head coach of WMU Football.
Friday’s event comes one day after the university announced his appointment as its 17th head football coach.
Taylor, 41, is a member of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians, and is a pro State recognized tribe At Alabama, he excited the crowd with his fiery conviction to play the game for the win. He began his remarks with, “Go, Broncos.”
“I will not shy away from aiming high. We will work to be great every day in every way. I will work tirelessly every day in every way and set standards of excellence for our players, coaches and everyone who touches our program,” Taylor said.
