get ready for The wheel! During NBC’s new high stakes game show, six celebrity guests help contestants win money. Big money. As in over $100,000. A mega hit in the UK, the show is created and hosted by British comedian michael mcintyre.
“There were a lot of old and returning game show formats on UK TV so I literally tried to think of a new one. And luckily the BBC loved it and it’s become a big success for them,” said McIntyre parade about how the show originally came to be. “NBC saw the first show we did and wanted to do an American version. It’s been so exciting!”
Celebrities bring their A-game to a topic that they say they have great experience with. As McIntyre explains, “celebrity guests themselves choose a category in which they claim to be experts.”
Categories run the gamut, from politics to Beyoncé, candy, poker, and beverly hills 90210 And everything else. The stars help contestants answer a variety of questions. trivia questions based on the category emerging from the giant 42 foot spinning wheel.
Full of mischief and hilarity, contestants answer one question from each category, but only one contestant can win this suspenseful extravaganza. Beginning Monday, December 19, there will be a two-week takeover of The wheel on NBC.
