America has always been at war with itself – and democracy can only survive if it makes peace

They warned how horrible it was. The Memphis Police Chief said the video would appear “Acts that defy humanity. “He was shot by the FBI director.”appalling. And yet. If anything, they downplayed the case. Death video Nichols Pictures? It hurts so much, the jaw drops, the stomach moods. I found myself screaming “Oh my God” over and over again, watching it.

I spent the day before – Holocaust Remembrance Day – Watching documentaries about that, the greatest crime in modern history. And on a visceral level? This video reminded me that. It sucks at that level, and though some may object, I can’t help but – if I don’t make an explicit comparison, which I don’t – then at least I find an echo. In any way though?

Let’s start from the beginning. Many of you will think you have seen the video, many of you have not. Many of the video versions I’ve seen floating around are spayed or shortened or what have you. The best version I’ve seen, by far, is the one on Washington Post website, where they synchronize audio and video from multiple cameras. And when you see what happened unfolding in that way, well, it’s not just “video” anymore. Now you feel as if you are really witnessing the event.
