February 4: Great Ice Brewfest – Raleigh Beer Garden hosts this event with local, regional and national breweries offering samples from noon to 4 pm The event also includes some non-alcoholic beverages. There will be live music from Mysti Mayhem. Everything happens in the event tent. Tickets are $40.
February 3rd: CAM Raleigh First Fridays – On the first Friday of every month, head to CAM Raleigh for this free Kevin Golden Jazz Ensemble show featuring Kevin Golden, Mac McLoughlin, Noah Powell, Mike Maloney and Dwayne Jordan.
February 4: Krispy Kreme Challenge – 2400 calories, 12 donuts, five miles, one hour. What started as a challenge between 10 friends morphed into a nationally publicized charity run and the number one tradition to complete before graduating from North Carolina State University (NCSU). All proceeds from the Krispy Kreme Challenge are donated to NC Children’s Hospital so that its staff can continue to provide the best care and facilities to its patients. The challenge is Saturday morning at NC State Belltower. Contestants run to the nearby Krispy Kreme, eat a dozen donuts, and run back.
