CAMBRIDGE – This place certainly has the makings of an urban community.
The village’s west side continues to create new homes and apartments near the junction of Vineyard and Kenseth Roads that pay homage to the vineyards of Cambridge Winery, NASCAR legend and original son Matt Kenseth. At the back of the development is Dancing Goat Distillery, one of the largest spirits makers in the state.
Downtown no longer draws the busloads of visitors it did in the 1990s, but Rough Pottery Works is still an institution here. Madison-based Strictly Discs plans to open a record store, and Main Street has a strong portfolio of small businesses that include a jockey shop, goldsmith, pharmacy, restaurants, coffee shops, a yarn shop, realtors, and insurance agents.

Premiere Couture bridal boutique by Laura Evenson has been present in multiple communities over the years but has found a home in Cambridge city centre.
