The city of Denver has donated 35 bison to several Native American tribes and one memorial board in Colorado, Oklahoma and Wyoming. The relocations were another example of Aboriginal people regaining stewardship of the land and animals that their ancestors had managed for thousands of years.
After a ceremony on Wednesday, the animals were loaded onto trucks and taken to tribal lands.
