Lifestyle and entertainment websites have recently been the main focus of hackers. To understand the reasons behind this, we got in touch with Nandakishore Harikumar, CEO of Technisanct. Lifestyle and entertainment websites have recently been attacked by hackers. Why is it so?
Lifestyle and entertainment are two industries where a lot of consumer data is available. It is the same case with the travel industry as well. It is a dynamic space. The daily volumes are high and this data is a gold mine for many hacker groups. At least, the user will use these apps for random checks only and most of the users register on these platforms with accurate information due to loyalty based activities.
What are the latest types of cyberattacks attackers are targeting?
During the wave of COVID, we witnessed that many people were attacked. Even now, the first target could be an employee of an organization. Eventually, the weak link will fall for that kind of intent. We have seen a sudden increase in ransomware attacks in the last 2 years. Ransom demands on organizations have increased drastically.
