CINEFESTIVAL San Antonio Launches Call For Entries

The country’s original and longest-running Latino film festival returns in summer 2023 with the 44th San Antonio CineFestival. The annual San Antonio celebration of independent Latino cinema, presented by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center, will take place July 12-16, 2023, at the historic Guadalupe Theater on San Antonio’s West Side.
The 44th CineFestival will focus on Chicano, Latinx, and Native American cinema, with an emphasis on Texas-related films. The festival will accept films completed after January 2021. Depending on public health guidance issued for the festival dates, the event will take place as a mix of virtual and live events, or exclusively in a virtual format.

CineFestival San Antonio traditionally hosts screenings, Q&A sessions, and panel discussions at the historic Guadalupe Theatre. Workshops, receptions, and after parties are held on the campus of the Guadalupe Center for Cultural Arts and other community partner venues. Free community events include a Family Day offering family-friendly screening, a youth program featuring works by filmmakers 18 and under, and the Senior Cinema Presentation for elderly film fans in the area.
