PARKSTON – A quick start sent Parkston to 24 points in the first quarter and set the stage for a 71-46 victory over Class B No. 4 Centerville on Friday night in the Parkston Classic in women’s basketball action.
The Trojans led 24-13 after the first quarter, 38-23 at halftime and 55-37 after three sets. Gracie Oakley had 24 points and Faith Oakley had 14 points for Parkston. Keeara Oakley had six points and nine rebounds for the Trojans.
The Tornadoes’ Lillie Eide, Thea Gust, MaKayla Heesch and Mackenzie Meyer scored seven points, with Eide six rebounds.
Parkston (4-0) plays Hanson on Jan. 3, while Centerville (4-1) visits Marty on Jan. 3.
The same two teams met on the men’s side of the event, with Parkston winning 59-48. No statistics reported.
